Hey, I’m Bailey! I started Bondi Bowls after living overseas along the coast of Australia for 2 years. Açaí Bowls were a staple of my time there. Although I could not bring the beautiful beaches with me, I thought I could bring the nutritious and health benefitting Açaí bowls!
I grew up in a small town, Arcadia, Oklahoma, where faith and hospitality were at the core of my family’s values.
The journey to starting Bondi Bowls began when my adventurous spirit took me to Australia after graduating from college. I moved with no job, friends, connections, or even a place to live. I was blessed to live there for 2 years and never wanted to leave the life I had created.
However, in March 2020, I got a phone call that my dad had found a tumor in his bladder, and time froze. This was also during the first stages of COVID and Australia had final calls for all international flights that weekend. I had less than 24 hours to buy a ticket, pack, say goodbye, and fly home. The moment I landed was the same time the doctors called to deliver the news his tumor was non-invasive cancer. This form of cancer has a normal life expectancy and shows that God truly answered our family’s prayers.
I knew God had a reason for bringing me home and began to search for that reason. I quickly realized there were few job openings during the pandemic. Having an entrepreneurial spirit and wanting to share Australia with my Oklahoma community led to the idea of bringing the beach to you through Bondi Bowls food truck. Only 3 short weeks later we were up and running.
Bondi Bowls serves multiple types of immune-boosting bowls – from Açaí to Pitaya, with numerous beneficial mix-ins. All Bondi Bowls dishes can be made Vegan, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, and Plant-Based. In order to share these bowls with as many people as possible, I chose to open a food truck. Now I can go to the local neighborhoods, markets, and parks in order to bring yummy nutrition to everyone.
